Information for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)

How to apply...

If you meet the requirements you will first need to register your details in order to gain access to your personal dashboard where you can start completing your online application form.

All sections of the form must be completed before you can submit it to the online pool.

You will also need to complete a personal statement as part of your online application.  Please see the Guidance Notes for advice regarding writing your personal statement and what to include.

When to apply...

Schools/colleges look to recruit NQTs all year round, usually at the beginning of each term with the bulk of NQT recruitment being made for the beginning of each academic year (September).  It is advisable that you submit your application as soon as possible and please remember to keep your contact details as accurate and as up to date as possible.

What will happen next ?

After you have fully completed your application form and you are happy with it, you will be asked to digitally sign and submit the form to the NQT Talent Pool after which it will be reviewed by us and either approved or rejected/returned for amendment(s).  If approved, your application will be processed to the live pool where it will be visible to all Manchester Headteachers/Principals within the phase/sector you have specified in your preferences.

All Headteachers/Principals are issued with their own login details for the Talent Pool which they can use to view, shortlist and invite suitable candidates to interview at the school/college at a date/time to be agreed.

If you are successful at interview and employed by the school/college and registered for statutory NQT Induction via NQT Manager - your application will be automatically withdrawn from the pool (you will be able to re-activate it at a later date if you wish to do so/you do not complete induction at your employing school/college)

All applications will remain live in the pool for 12 months from the date of submission.  During this time you will receive regular email reminders (1 a month) reminding you to remove your application from the pool if you have successfully gained employment either within or outside of Manchester - this is essential so that schools/colleges are not wasting your time or theirs by shortlisting and inviting you to interview if you are already employed.

Good luck with your application !
