The Humanities Faculty covers 4 subject areas: Geography, History, RS and Citizenship. The Faculty is well resourced with access to excellent facilities. The quality of teaching and learning is high. There is strong distributed leadership and teamwork within the Faculty. Pupils make excellent progress at all levels.
We teach the AQA specification for both History and Citizenship GCSE. Citizenship is taught as a discrete subject at Key Stage 4 only. It is taught within the PSHE curriculum at Key Stage 3 by form tutors.
We are as committed to staff well-being as to pupil well-being. Full time staff work four and half days a week but are paid for 5 days, with the secondary phase closing at 12.30 every Friday for all staff and pupils.
We place a great focus on staff development, at all levels with an extensive programme of professional development which offers a whole range of opportunities for colleagues' development.
