Job details

Manchester Hospital School welcomes applications from supply teachers.

We are particularly interested to hear from secondary qualified teachers in the specialisms of maths and science.

For those looking to work flexible hours there are opportunities within Manchester Hospital School.

Sessional teaching is ideal for those who work part time or have other commitments. It is a great opportunity to be part of a team delivering a bespoke curriculum to those who are unable to access mainstream education.

The post will work across the Hospital School supporting our pupils at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and our other sites including the Leo Kelly Centre.

You will have a passion for the processes of learning and teaching, and you will be eager to continually develop your own skills. You will provide engaging and stimulating learning environments where all pupils are treated as individuals.

You will have experience of working with children with additional needs and you will be a skilled science practitioner. You will have the ability to work flexibly with a range of pupils and you will be able to manage your own workload effectively. You will work collaboratively with all our staff and parents in order to support pupil well being.

Manchester Hospital School provides education for children at Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital, at a number of other provisions across the city and for children and young people too ill to attend their own school. We run the Leo Kelly Centre as part of our hospital school for children and young people with specific health needs which cannot be met in any other settings.

We are a key member of the national association for Hospital Education (NAHE) and we work closely with our local partnerships in the Manchester Collaborative.

We can offer you:

  • An improving school with a reputation for delivering high quality education in a hospital setting
  • A culture where all pupils feel valued, listened to and cared for
  • A talented, sensitive and flexible group of staff
  • A committed Governing body with interested and involved parents
