We currently have an exciting opportunity for two Level 3, Grade 4, Teaching Assistants (Year 8 and Year 10) to work in Manchester Enterprise Academy's 'Alternative Pathways' provision in the school's excellent new build provision 'The Hub'.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to make a difference to students who struggle to access the mainstream curriculum and could, without suitable intervention, be at risk of being excluded or referred to a pupil referral unit. They will also believe that economic disadvantage is a compelling reason to raise expectations rather than a reason to lower them and will do everything in their power to help our students achieve their full potential.
The Teaching Assistants will be key workers for their cohort, basing themselves in class and supporting learning. The candidate will be the main point of contact for home and will work with the tutor to provide full pastoral support for attendance, behaviour, welfare and personal development.
MEA is a fantastic purpose-built site which provides excellent academic facilities, with amongst other things, specialist science laboratories, dance and art studios and a multi-sport facility including a full-size artificial rugby and football pitch. The Academy has a wonderful culture and prides itself on inclusion and is described in its Ofsted report as 'A vibrant community that treats you like family (and) a good school that has improved students' achievement significantly year on year'.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. The above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
